Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state has announced that he has tested positive to the coronavirus infection.
The governor made the disclosure on Tuesday, June 30, via a video shared on his official and verified Twitter handle.
Akeredolu said as at the time of receiving his test result, he is symptomatic and has since gone into self-isolation.
He called for continued prayers from the people of the state saying “your continued prayers over my well being are most appreciated.”
“I had Malaria few days and was treated and did get over it. As at the time we had our party (APC) NEC meeting, my colleagues called on me. I spoke with one of them, feared that malaria should not be treated lightly and I should go-ahead to test for Covid-19,” Akeredolu said
