Alleged details of how, why Aso Rock’s assistant director was murdered emerge

New details have emerged over what led to the death of Laetitia Dagan, an assistant director at the State House, Abuja, who was murdered on Monday night, February 17, in her apartment.

The Guardian reports that Dagan was murdered by some Yahoo boys living around her residence.

The deceased had reportedly complained that some Yahoo boys around her residence were making her uncomfortable.

She allegedly later reported the development to the police and the suspected criminals were arrested.

They were, however, later freed and got to know that their arrest was prompted by the deceased.

The assailants, thus, decided to revenge by subjecting Dagan to the agony of slow death.

She was said to have first been tied in her apartment and subjected her to various indecent acts before strangulating her to death and setting the body ablaze.

The newspaper reports that the deceased’s gateman who is also has also been arrested by security operatives.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the police in Abuja said they have arrested a suspect over the death of the assistant director.

According to a statement by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) command’s spokesman, Anjuguri Manzah, the arrest followed a preliminary probe by the criminal investigation department of the force.

The police added that the suspect whose identity was not revealed conspired with others, who are still at large, to carry out the crime.

The statement, also, warned members of the public to overlook inaccurate stories on social media about the murder of Dagan so as not to pre-empt investigation.

Also, the permanent secretary of State House, Abuja, Jalal Arabi, on Tuesday, February 18, confirmed the death of Dagan.

Arabi, announcing the sad incident, revealed that Dagan was murdered around 11pm on Monday.

She described Dagan as a dedicated and hardworking person who through her days as a worker in the House lived a good life.

In another report, the death of a former lawmaker of the Ogun state House of Assembly, Yinka Mafe, has been announced.

Mafe, the immediate past majority leader of the Ogun state House of Assembly died on Tuesday, February 4.

It was gathered that the former lawmaker died shortly after celebrating his 46th birthday having complained of chest pain after the celebration.

Also, his remains have been deposited at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), morgue in Sagamu.

Before his death, Mafe had organised a prayer session at his hometown in Emuren as part of activities to mark his birthday on Tuesday.

He was said to have visited inmates and of the Nigeria Correctional Centre in Sagamu before heading to Tenth Planet & Suites were he had a party with some members of his political party, friends, relatives and well-wishers.
